The Weekend Lens

Hello Monday! Last week in January! How is that even possible??  But I will take it! Just one more week closer to spring!  So what did we do this weekend?  I am so glad you ask!

I started Friday at a conference out-of-town. See:

My current view point

Looks exciting right? Actually those chairs were very comfy. Have you ever been to a conference and the chairs are just horrible? By the end of the day your back-end is begging for you to get up and walk around? Oh I hate that. These chairs were nice. And the topic wasn’t so bad either, I was learning all about planning for bicycles. You know, infrastructure, programs… the life of an urban planner.

Here are a few more from the conference.

Going up? Bikes are cool

I even came home with a certificate…that didn’t have the right date on it, but a certificate nonetheless.

A got a certificate !

But it was good to get home to my little monkeys!

Good to be home !

Saturday we started removing wallpaper from the entry way and dining room.

This means I started...#removingwallpapersuck Oh my!! Now to start this wall... #ihatewallpaper Started! That was easy! The entry wasn't so easy- and now we have some wall issues to deal with in there. Waiting for another day to start primer.

It came down easy. But we found some interesting issues under the wallpaper in the entryway. It seems that wallpaper has been removed here before. But not all the wallpaper was removed, and then they painted over it. So we have some bumpy wall issues going on in there – that we need to fix. Ug.

Here is what the new color of paint is going to look like. (the gray)

Gray - the new color....eventually

Sunday we stopped at Dimitri’s office for a minute after church. He has toys in his office, the boys think that is very cool. They like to visit Daddy’s office.

Visiting Daddy's office. He has toys!

Back at home…we taped the woodwork and filled nail holes in the hallway. Prepping for painting, which won’t happen until next weekend.

Prepping... Tape up and nail holes being filled.

And then baths for the kids.

Clean baby girl

Oh wait… those were just pictures from my iPhone. I actually did get out my DSLR a few times this weekend.

Silly Girl. She is wearing a mini-mouse costume dress that she is in love with! She wears it over her clothes all the time. She likes to dance and twirl while wearing it. The banana sticker and the messy face? Well I think that just adds to the look.

Papa came over for dinner on Saturday night.

And Yia Yia and Pappou stopped by on Saturday night too.

We get crazy on Saturday night around here! Can’t you tell?

Sunday was gloomy and lots of rain (thankfully not ice!) around here. The reflection of the trees in the puddle in our driveway.

  1. Ooh, some fantastic photos! I love the one of the wallpaper being stripped in the entryway, and the ones of your daughter in her all-in-one dancing around, and the reflection of the trees in the puddle is magic! x

Oh taking wall paper off is no fun. The rain we got froze on everything it was not fun.
