Project Life 2011 | June – Project Life Flash Back

I started using Project Life back in March of 2011.  Since it was already March, I thought I was too far behind to start the weekly layouts of PL that I do now for my 2012 album.  So I decided that my 2011 album would be documented monthly.  Well the year kinda slipped away from me – and I knew that in 2012 I wanted to keep up weekly with PL, so my 2011 album is sitting there unfinished.  Actually I have all the pictures in my album I just need to go back and add words.  That is where this blog comes in handy! I use the pictures and stories right here from this blog. I often reference my blog when I am working on my 2012 album too! I think that catching-up is a good thing to do, but I think that it is important to keep documenting current events too. I never know when I will need to refer back. Because life just keeps moving, and sometimes I forget those details I wanted to document. Even if it happened last week. I put them here on my blog, and I have photos + words for when I am ready for them.  And now you know why I am always keeping my blog up to date.  I have a plan….

So this week I decided to share June of my 2011 album.  I recently went on a scrapbook retreat (the end of September is recent, right?)  and I was able to spend some time trying to catch-up on 2011.

(Warning…lots of photos ahead. Actually, photos of photos)

So why even bother going back to 2011? Why bother printing the pictures and writing down the stories, especially when I have them right here on my blog?

I believe there is something very important about getting those images off the computer and into a book.  A book that can be touched and flipped through.  A book that people can gather around and look at. It’s just not the same with digital files. And one day will my kids be able to access this blog? Will my flickr, facebook, twitter, pinterest account be around when I am dead for my kids to access? (which sounds kind of morbid I know).  But true isn’t it? But they will have these albums. The stories + pictures. In their hands. The story of our family and what we did in 2011.  And to me that is super special. And I am not giving up on 2011. Nope – plugging right along. I just need another scrapbook weekend and July will be done!

As for 2012, I am rockin’ that too! I will be back next week with weeks 43 and 44.

I am linking up with The Mom Creative for Project Life Tuesday!

Thanks for stopping by!

That’s awesome! Well done for catching up. I need to do something similar for my incomplete 2011 album. It’s so great that your family can enjoy looking at all those memories!

I’m S.L.O.W.L.Y. going back and doing 2011. I agree. I want to get them all accessible and enjoyable, even if the stuff is sort of already on the family blog.

Love all your layouts. Way to catch up on 2011!! I just recently started Project Life…but I’m loving having journaling and hard copies of my pictures so much, that I was actually thinking of going back and doing 2011.
Really like the quote cards you did up. They look great!
